We started by letting each kid pick 2 people each that they thought deserved a ding dong ditch. The people they picked consisted of neighbors that have been helpful/friendly, families we admire, single guys that are always ready to help, teachers that have touched lives, strangers that offered hugs, EMT workers that always have a kind word....plus a few more.
After we got the names ready, me and Laycee hit the kitchen and started baking a TON of cookies... we made chocolate chip..
Then we made some super yummy no bake cookies
Laycee made some kick butt almond rolls.
We also made peanut butter cookies, rice crispy treats and tried our luck at molasses cookies (blech)
In the mean time, we had the kids busy making gift sacks!
We then loaded up the goodies in the expertly made goodie bags...I printed a note saying "you have been ding dong ditched, but dont worry we are not being mischievous, we picked you because we think you are special" and then wrote in a more personalized message below. Then we bundled up and got ready to head out.
The kids had a BLAST.....four little ninjas tip toeing up to the selected houses...
Setting the care package on the porch and Knocking LOUDLY on the doors.....then RUNNING like mad back to the hidden truck.
It was a very good night.
P.S.
I got my tree up finally!
even a representation of my brother placed right it front.
our angel.
Awh Christmas memories planted in their hearts! This is why christmas is my favorite because the great memories I have from a child, mom and now a grandma...
